Stepping Boy Outruns Mrs. Heller in Lincoln Headliner LINCOLN DOWNS, LINCOLN, R. I., May 13. — Closing with an irresistable stretch drive, after it appeared Mclvor Pricketts favored Mrs. Hellen had the race won, Rumstick Lodge Stables Stepping Boy charged up to win the featured seventh race by a length. His filly rival was second by two and a half lengths before R. E. Haynes Criss M. Rappaporte and Finocchio Jr.s Klser King, who dogged the pacemak-ing Mrs. Hellen until mid-stretch eased back to fourth in the field of seven. Stepping Boy. with Warren Lane in the saddle, was good for .20 in the tote after covering the five furlongs in 1:002_ over a track classified as good. The day for the most part was cloudy but by the time the nameless feature was run some sunlight was getting through the heavy haze. A crowd of 8.790 attended during the afternoon, and it was expected that most fans were saving themselves for tomorrows Appreciation Day and the chance to win a new automobile.
