The latter took command early, made the pace until well inside the stretch, but couW not hold the winner. SONFAR raced evenly without mishap. BLACK BIKINI was unable to reach the leaders when set down in the drive. SUGAR BRIAR began sluggishly. TOY AGAIN raced wide throuqh the stretch. MIGHTY WISE tired after making a mild bid in the early stretch. SECOS SISTER could not keep up. RED HARPIN was through early. THIRD WARD had early speed but went lame during the running. LEATHERWOOD. well placed from the start, responded willingly when hard ridden through the stretch and, racing COLONEL TIP into defeat, held a safe margin to the finish. TEN-O-TWO, away sluggishly, steadily worked his way forward to the stretch, closed strongly under punishment but could not reach the winner. COLONEL TIP, never far back, took command after three-eighths mile and settled for the drive with a clear lead but faltered when challenged by LEATHERWOOD. SEDULOUS was unable to threaten the leaders when set down in the drive. HAWHORN was never dangerous. HAPPYS SAM had early foot but failed to stay. FIDGET saved ground throughout but failed to rally under weak handling. D00 PLEASE showed nothing. WHEELHORSE had no excuse. The latter raced evenly for a half mile, was taken out for the stretch run and closed fast but could not overtake the winner, although easily best of the others. MISS TELEPHONE, a keen factor from the outset, raced nearest VALIANT SHIP to the final furlong, then faltered. BIG WINNER raced well to the stretch but tired badly during the drive. ALTICO, a keen factor from the start, went to the front approrching the stretch, settled for the drive with a short lead but could not hold the top one. CURRO FIZZ saved ground throughout, held i on well to the last eighth, then faltered. BROWN OSCAR lacked early foot but finished willinnly in the | middle of the track. GARDEN HAN was never dangerous. COMMOBAR began slowly. CORK SCREW, weakly handled, was through early. FIVE CARAT raced well to the stratch but had nothing left for the drive.
