Adams Astride Triple By DON FAIR CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville, Ky., May 13. — Valiant Ship, who races for the David Paper and L. R. Harris-owned Bud-dah Stable, scored a front-running victory here this sultry afternoon in the Bubbling Over Purse, defeating seven juvenile rivals. Hustled into command by Johnny Del-ahoussaye at the start of the five furlongs dash, Valiant Ship made every post a winner, stepping under the wire with a length and one-quarter advantage over her nearest rival, Thomas Settles Little Skip. Charles Simpsons Miss Telephone finished third, four lengths back of Little Skip and a half length on T. Alie Grissoms favored Big Winner. Valiant Ship, a daughter of Greek Ship and. Valiente, shouldered 114 pounds and raced over the fast track in 1:00%. She was second choice with the crowd of more than 6,000 on hand for the sport at 12-to-5. Valiant Ship came out of the stalls alertly and she quickly opened up a length and one -half margin over Miss Telephone while Big Winner raced along in third position a similar distance away. This order was maintained until the leaders settled for the stretch ran, Big Winner dropping back as Little Skip began a brisk challenge from third anw well out in the track. Little Skip Makes Vain Bid During the drive Valiant Ship stuck diligently to her task under Delahoussayes good guidance and she had enough to repulse Little Skips game but futile bid. Miss Telephone was a tiring third and under some pressure through the last sixteenth mile to save third from Big Winner, who also chucked it after displaying early foot. Johnny Ralph Adams was astride his third winner when he hustled James L. Paddocks Roysie R. to an easy victory in the Omar Khayam Purse. Second honors in the mile and one-sixteenth test went to John M. Harts Tucky Miss while Thaxster Quisenberrys favored Vehicle ran third in the band of seven starters. Roysie R. .40 in the straight tote pool, raced the eight furlongs in 1:38%. Tireune, a five-year-old Great Union-sired gelding, ridden by Bobby Dever, was the longest-priced winner of the current meeting, beating nine rivals in the six furlongs fifth. The Bone Stable racer paid 20.40, 0.00, 2.40 across the board after stepping the three-quarters mile in 1:132,5. Mrs. A. M. Creechs Miss Run More, pacemaker for the greater part of the sprint distance, finished second to Tireune and she was a half length before T. Alie Grissoms favored Queensware for that portion of the spoils. Mrs. Norman J. Hernandez Pit Away was along for fourth. William E. Halls Sky Capers, ridden by Johnny Delahoussaye, scored her second straight success, decisively defeating eight other ordinary platers in the seven-eighths mile fourth. Young Adams won the seven furlongs initial event astride T. Alie Grissoms Ergo, then hustled R. E. Harrisons Pure Pleasure home first in the one mile War Admiral Purse.
