Stewards Rulings FORT MIAMI, Maumee, Ohio, May 13. — The stewards today issued the following rulings: •Jockey Norman Cartwright is suspended eight racing days, for the balance of the meeting, May 14-May 22, inclusive, and it is recommended to the Ohio State Racing Commission that he be suspended an additional two days for a total of 10 days, for interfering with Kentessa on the far turn and in the ninth race, May 11, causing the disqualification of his mount Avenida. Bird, Stanfordville, N. Y., and from Earl Lawrence Ferris Jr., a disqualified person. Also granted is the transfer to trainer George Williams of the horse Cononym. restored to good standing." HAMILTON, Ohio, May 13. — The stewards issued the following ruling: "Trainer Thomas Kenwood is fined 5. for changing equipment without permission." FONNER PARK, Grand Island. Neb., May 13. — The board of stewards issued the following ruling: "Jockey Joe Sherman is fined 5 for unnecessarily striking his mount. Little Sam, over the head after the running of the third race. Saturday, May 11, 1957."
