Zippy Downs Favored Rarco Saul at Jersey Apprentice Cap Has Mount Full Length to Good; 21,956 Attend By JOE HIRSCH GARDEN STATE PARK, Camden, N. J., May 31. Larry Jennings Zippy was as good as her name in todays featured Avalon Purse. Under an expert ride by apprentice Eddie Cape, she came zipping through the stretch to run down Rarco Stables favored Rarco Saul inside the sixteenth pole and score by a length. Rarco Saul was another two and a half lengths before Brookfield Farms Inflame. An excellent Friday crowd of 21,956 turned out in delightful weather to watch Zippy register her first tally of the year after two unsuccessful starts,. The four-year-old daughter of Billings, off at 5-to-l, returned 2.60 and was timed in l:10ys for the six furlongs of the feature. She won three of her 12 races last year and campaigned against some fairly decent fillies. Rarco Saul was the pacesetter under a brisk ride by Willie Hartack, while Cape was content to remain a couple of lengths off the lead with the winner. This is the way they went down the backstretch and this is the way they turned for home. At the eighth pole, Rarco Saul enjoyed a slight advantage over Zippy but this game miss, moving strongly on the outside after going just a bit wide entering the stretch, I swept past Rarco Saul inside the sixteenth pole and scored decisively.
