The latter, slow to. settle in stride, commenced to advance along the inside after going five-eighths and, with a belated rush, was getting to the wjnner. BETTER GOODS, held in reserve to the final quarter mile where he was sent up between horses and finished full of run. INVALIDATE stumbled leaving the gate, quickly recovered to race with the winner lo the early stretch where he flattened out when put to a , drive. FLEET FATH had no apparent excuse in an even effort.
