Landers Riding at River Downs RIVER DOWNS, Cincinnati, Ohio, May 31. Jockey Billy Landers arrived to swell the large riding colony already at the River Downs course. The 19-year-old lad who hails from Des Moines, Iowa, began his riding career at Ak-Sar-Ben in Omaha, Nebr., and rode his first winner at that track in September, 1955. Landers, who is in his second year of riding was busy at his trade at Oaklawn Park and Fort Miami before checking in here.
