West Virginia Notes WATERFORD PARK. Chester, W. Va., May 31. Jockey Francesco Saumell resumed riding on Friday after completing a ten-day suspension meted out by the Waterford Park stewards. The dark-Jhaired Cuban was the leading rider with 21 victories at the time of his suspension but is now four mounts behind Charley McKee. Saumell has been galloping horses daily during his vacation. Trainer George Byrne will make a flying trip to his Pennsylvania farm over the week end, leaving after he saddles Win-lochan Stables Tight Turn in the Memorial Day feature. Byrne will take in a day of sport at nearby Delaware Park during his visit but will be back at his training chores at Waterford Park on Monday. - Apprentice Harvey Unger made up some ground on George Leone in the battle of "bug boys" here as he piloted Calamity to her third .straight victory this week. Un-gers contract has been leased to trainer Harry Miller Jr. for the meeting at Waterford by Newton Mayo for whom Unger, has worked steadily since being discharged from the Army two years ago. Each of Ungers six victories here have been accomplished by sneaking through on the rail.
