Won driving; second and third the same. NATURAL SPEED was with the pace from thetart, moved into command from the outside into the stretch and won going away while kept to pressure. SPEEDY FOOT, sluggish early, came to the extreme outside for the drive and closed vith a good burst of speed. MR. MELPET gradually moved closer to the leaders, lugged in badly in midstretch, impeding horses on the insidt and outfinished the others. FAITHFUL RING, between horses from the start, was tiring slightly when brushed by MR. MELPET. HELENS ACE lacked the necessary late response. SOUND OF DAWN tired steadily in the final eighth. RUSH FOR GOLD shook loose from PINK BRIER leaving the far turn, drew clear in the stretch but could not hold off the winner. JUDE was taken to the outside into the stretch and closed with a sharp burst of speed in the last sixteenth. EL BERNARDO saved ground into the stretch but lacked the necessary rally. LIGHT MUSIC surrendered the lead to SLICK leaving the far turn, remained along the inside into the stretch and, under stern punishment, was along in the late yards to wear down that rival. SLICK rushed to command before three-eighths, drew clear, but shortened stride in the late yards and could not withstand the winner. MOLLY BELL moved into close contention before a half mile, and while closing willingly, could not wear down the top pair. CRANBERRY JOE niade up ground late. CAROLYN L. faltered. BRIGHT CHARGE moved inside the leader on the-turn and drawing off into the stretch, had to be put to strong pressure to hold off GREG. The latter, sluggish early, closed with a good burst of speed down the middle of the track in the last sixteenth. KEY STAR showed an even effort. LITTLE CHATTER made a good run into contention before a half mile but flattened out in the late stages. OLYMPIC QUEEN showed. little.
