f , Increase Second and Third Purse Awards for Buckeye CLEVELAND, Ohio, May 31. Second and third purse awards for the 0,000 added Buckeye Handicap, highlight of the Randall Park meeting, have been increased for the 1957 running:, it has been announced by general manager Edwin C. Moon and racing secretary Lawrence Bogenschutz. Second money this year has been increased from ,000 to ,000, and third money will be worth ,500, compared to ,000 last season. The fourth prize will remain at ,500. In 1956, Calumets Bardstown won the Buckeye Cap, earning 3,700. Bogenschutz said the second and third purse awards have been increased in j the hopes of attracting a more balanced field for future runnings.
