Greek Greek Game Game Wins Wins in in Seasonal Seasonal Bow; Bow; Laqides Laqides Records Records First First U.S. U.S. Victory Victory — _ : : . i Seven Sprinters Go In Woodsman Purse Paris All Looms Favorite Oyer Knobview Kid, Falling Star in Hazel Park Eyeat By BUD LYON HAZEL PARK, Mich., June 20.— With a record number of horses being entered this morning for Fridays racing by the 10:30 a. m. closing time everything seemed back to normal with even track -superintendent Paul Talbot predicting a fast racing strip for Fridays program. The Woodsman Purse, an allowance affair at six furlongs, tops the eight-race j program with seven better-than-average | sprinters slated to vie for the lions share j of the ,000 purse. * I R. B. Walters Paris All rates the pre-race choice for the Woodsman for in three outings to date the gray gelding has finished in the runner-up position twice and out of the money in his only other start. The altered son of Flushing n.— Camp Liberty failed to threaten seriously in his last for he caught a rather fast field in a four-furlong dash and after having been! impeded at the halfway mark he just didnt have sufficient time to recover and get back in stride again. . Second to Know All Prior to that.Paris All was defeated just a head by Trip Lightly in the six-furlong Iroquois Purse with the time being on the fast side for the mare was caught in 1:13%. On the final day of May, Paris All appeared impressive in what was his first outing of the year by placing to Know All in a three -quarters dash with three lengths separating" the pair at the finish. The winners time was 1:14 that afternoon and the R. Coons-trained Paris All, obviously in need of the race, was far the best of the others for it was another sevens-lengths: back to the show horse. Earl Smiths Knobview Kid appears a top contender here for the Mr. Music gelding fits in perfectly with this field and off Continued on Page Forty-Ohe Seven Sprinters Clash in Hazel Park Feature - Paris All Choice to Win First Purse of Meet Off Recent Races j Continued from Page One his strong third to Validon in the six and one-half furlongs Great Lakes Handicap on opening day he could Avell-pick up his first purse of the meeting in this* dash. Knobview Kid was beaten just over four lengths in the opening day feature which was contested overa "heavy" racing strip so that with fast going prevailing tomorrow he could well pick up the cash. Mrs. V. Johnsons Falling Star has been knocking at the door in her two local appearances- having placed in both efforts with her most recent outing being against Andy-Jack in a three-quarters dash under allowance conditions with two lengths separating the pair at the wire. The going was sloppy that afternoon and the Johnson colorbearer seemed to falter somewhat after having gained a clear lead in mid-stretch. Earlier in the season the filly succumbed by just a length and one-quarter to Dream Girl in a six-furlong allowance event contested over a fast track and this time again after she had gained the lead in midstretch. With two such efforts as these under her tomorrow could well be opportunity for her to make amends. Arrayed against this highly regarded trio are Flying Bridge Farms Uncle Eddie, Kartine and Whitesells Elkchester; Mrs. Royal Firman Jr.s Roman Sword and Mre. J. M. Harts Mark Klaine.
