SUN DAVID was close 16 SUPER KITTY for -a quarter, then went to the front after leaving the backstretch, and gamely withstanding a challenge from LUCIETE in the stretch, held the latter under pressure. LUCIETE moved up well on the outside in the stretch and went well to the finish. -SOUTHERN SKIES came fairly well through the stretch. SANDERS ROAD failed to threaten. SUPER KITTY tired. ZING gained gradually after .going half the distance and finishing fast, caught NISSY in the final fifty yards to win going away. NISSY led SPLITTER by a narrow .margin to the stretch, then drew out from the latter but failed to have enough left. DRU VU improved his position in the stretch to finish well. AMERICAN PLUCK was never far from the leaders and, closing up strongly on the outside of MAMMAS BABY rounding the stretch turn, passed her at midstretch" to increase her margin under hand riding-thereafter. MAMMAS BABY took command early and was easily best of the rest. IN CLOVER raced steadily throughout 4jut failed to threaten. CANYON weakened. BLAZING ROCKET, off poorly, trailed to the last sixteenth, then passed tiring horses. CHARIER was not dangerous: SIR RUPERT WAS ORDERED WITHDRAWN BY THE STEWARDS FOLLOWING A CONSULTATION WITH THE VETERINARIAN. MONEY WAGERED ON HIM WAS REFUNDED. BLUE VOLT was saved within striking distance of the leaders in the first six furlongs, then came fast on the outside when urged to catch INNISHOWEN in the last sixteenth and win going away. INNNISHOWEN set the early pace, continued gamely after being headed by PYRENEES on the backstretch and, saving ground on the stretch turn, again got to the front to hold on well. STICKS was never far away and turned in a steady effort. RATHERHAM drew up to the leaders at midstretch, then faded. PYRENEES tired. The others were always outrun.
