Fourteen Expected To Seek New Castle Only Six Named for Todays Spring Maiden Steeplechase Renewal at Delaware Course By PALMER HEAGERTY DELAWARE PARK, Stanton, Del., June 2*0.— With Hal Price Headleys Attica, George D. Wideners Rare Treat and Reginald N. Websters Sorceress due to arrive from New York within the next 24 hours, and Max Zipkins Gay Warbler becoming a probable starter, the field for Saturdays 5,000 added New Castle Stakes is expected to include 14 stellar members of the filly and mare division. With a field of this size competing, the purse of the mile and one-sixteenth test will gross close to 0,-000. Included among the prospects for this middle event of the "Distaff Big Three," to be followed by the mile and a quarter Delaware Handicap, richest race in the world for fillies and mares, are the following: Calumet Farms team of Amoret and Princess Turia, Ellis Farms Little Pache, Christopher T. Chenerys Manotick, Howell E. Jacksons Nasrina, King Ranchs Dotted Line, E. B. Johnsons Kings Mistake, Mrs. J. R. H. Thourons White Orchid, Phillip Connors Stolen Hour, D and H Stables Jane Gess and the quartet named in the opening paragraph. Calumet Team on Track Princess Turia and Amoret were on the track during training hours this morning, their moves being supervised by Dee Brooks, who is handling them until the arrival of trainer H. A. "Jimmy" Jones on the week end. Princess Turia, winner of her lone appearance here, breezed five furlongs in 1:03%, while Amoret went a half in :48% in what the dockers described as a "smart training move." Bill Hartack will be on from Chicago to handle one of the Calumet lassies and it is expected that his choice will be Amoret, with whom he won the Columbiana and Black Helen Handicaps at Hialeah during the winter. While awaiting the distaff fixture, Delaware patrons Friday will be offered the ,500 added Spring Maiden Steeplechase Stakes, a test of about two miles over 12 obstacles. The overnight field is rather disappointing, in that there are only six entrants representing four interests, which eliminates the possibility of show wagering. Named for the 17th running of the event are: Mrs. L. C. Ledyards Actinic, second to Hurst Park in a local engagement; Mrs. Vernon G. Cardys Rebel Coat, the Mrs. H. T. McKnight-Mrs. Ogderr Phipps coupling of Hill Tie and Affable, and the C. W. Stitzer-Mrs. M. G. Walsh team of Ruby Brick and Independence.
