Honor John Hay Whitney Special to Daily Racing Form LONDON, England, June 20 Reuters. — John Hay Whitney, United States ambassador in London, has been elected an honorary member of The Jockey Club, ruling body of the ish turf. Whitney is co-owner with his sister, Mrs. Charles Shipman Payson, of the Greentree Stable, one of the leading racing and breeding establishments in the United States. He has been racing horses in England, too, lor more than 30 years and has frequently attended the principal race meetings here. Ambassador Whitney is also a long-time member of The Jockey Club in the United States, having been elected to that body in 1928.
