Westwood Purse Heads Tonights Cahokia Sport Bleak Expected to Go Postward As Favorite Over Eight Rivals By J. J. HAHN CAHOKIA DOWNS, East St. Louis, 111., June 20. — With the meeting of the East St. Louis Jockey Club back in full swing following the third postponement because of flooded conditions, racing secretary L. Henderson Van Zandt should have little trouBle in drawing together the better grade horses housed here, now that they have had almost a weeks vacation following the cloudbursts of last Friday and Saturday. The 36th program of the session is to be offered Friday night and the card is a well-balanced one. While smaller fields than usual make up the races the horses are of a better caliber than on most programs. The top event is the sixth race, titled the Westwood Purse and to be staged over the one -mile distance. It is for three-year-olds and upward and drew nine probable starters, including an entry. Most likely to reign the public choice is Bleak, who is out to earn his initial victory of the meeting. Matched against the possible favorite are Yellow Fly, Tiger Dancer, Oalo, G. Lad, Blendon, First Four and the coupling of Chic Bettyann and Cozy Cat, who are to sport the silks of J. L. Cleveland. Another allowance race of interest is the fourth and at six and one-half furlongs and also for three-year-olds and upward. It embraces such well-known speedsters as I Will Fly, TJ. S. Jet, Marbardi, Fergies Mon, Paddys Pal, Away Joe, Aftermath, Capodocian and Princess Ellen. The third allowance race on the bill is the third at seven furlongs and, while only seven are named here, it brings together many winners at the meeting. It is made up of Dateline, Blue Maid, Imperial Ace, Tennessee Boy, Polly West, Mambo Man and Hachote. A pair of former local handicap stars are being dropped down to the claiming ranks in the one-mile seventh race. They are Creme-de-Cocoa and Clymon and their opposition includes Lord Blandford, Trephine, Gallant Answer, Jack Carroll, Black Barney, Ekin, E. Awiwi and Get Ready. Closing out the nine-race card is a marathon affair over the one mile and five furlongs distance in which seven are entered. The track was fast for workouts this morning and should the favorable weather continue in this area the racing strip* should be at its best for Fridays racing. _
