Red Chip Bond Captures Third in Row at Thistle Wins by Five Lengths for New - Owner; Daily Double Pays 05 By Staff Correspondent THISTLEDOWN, North Randall, Ohio, June 20. — Red Chip Bond, a three-year-old son of Bymeabond— Emolument, claimed by Russell Fisher in his last outing for ,250, scampered to a five-length easy victory in his first effort for the new owner in todays sixth race, the Struthers Purse. Mayor Harold Mulligan of the city of Struthers presented a trophy to Fisher following the race. Jockey Clarence Meaux handling his second winner of the afternoon had Red Chip Bond away in front, and after disposing of Herb Jolleys Foxy Scent in the early going, was never seriously threatened as the Fisher sophomore garnered his third consecutive victory. Finishing second, was Courtney Burtons Real Pavot, who beat out M. A. Webbs Floral Miss by a half length. The winner paid 0.40 after running the distance in 1:06 over a "good" track. Another big Daily Double payoff took place when the combination of G. W. Conte and L. Di Novis Slick Knight and Mrs. W. D. Carrolls Texan Sigh returned 05.80. Making his first start of the year, Slick Knight scored by a length in the opener, with jockey Benny Serido in the saddle. He took the measure of - the favored Count Galla, owned, by N. S. Scavas Diamond Stable, with W. Zakoors Vie En Rose third. Slick Knight paid 0.40 straight. " Texan Sigh returned 5.80 in winning the second under the guidance of jockey Clarence Meaux. Taking command at the final turn, Texan Sigh went on to prevail by a length and one-half over the fast-finishing Rough Cookie, with Etheridge third, a half length back of the runner-up.
