POPS showed speed from the outset, alternated in establishing the pace and had something reft for the drive, while outfinishing BAMBOOZLER. The latter worked his way through along the inside, came out for the drive and was pressing. JAMES B. rallied in the final furlong and closed with good energy. LITTLE AUD, steadied within striking distance of the leaders, closed with a rush when roused. PRINCE VILLON, in close quarters most of the trip, held on tenaciously. GOOD COUNSEL was going stoutly after gaining racing room. LUNATION lacked early speed. LADY FINN flattened out after failing to draw clear. PIP PIP was unable to keep up. BLEMISH was outrun. BANK DRIVE improved his position along the inside, was sent through an opening and steered to the outside for the drive and was along to outfinish WIDE REQUEST. The latter drew clear soon after the start, dominated the pace most of the trip and held on stubbornly. BASSINGT0N, a forward factor from the outset, was caught between horses in the drive and forced to take up slightly. BROTHER MARCH moved to a forward position early and failed to make up ground in the late stages. INSOMNIA closed stoutly from off the pace. BRILLIANT MAID lacked .early speed. SWEET PICKINGS had no mishap. WARRENS GRAY retired steadily after failing to. reach the leaders in the opening quarter mile, LUSDORE rushed up on the outside to race close to the pace for a half mile and stopped. The others were outrun. A claim of foul by the rider of BASSINGTON against BANK DRIVE and WIDE REQUEST caused the disqualification of WIDE REQUEST, and he was placed, third. The latter drew clear after disposing of STOLA ROSE, enjoyed a comfortable lead in the late stages and then faltered. DARLIN BETTY, a forward factor, moved readily under late pressure, but was not good enough. STOLA ROSE weakened after forcing the pace. BULL BING had speed for three furlongs and weakened. MR. MAN BAR, forced to lose ground on the outside, was going stoutly in the stretch when he began bearing in and hampered the chances of the rider. TIO TITO rallied mildly in the final furlong.
