IRINCE DANN was not hurried after gaining a prominent position, was restrained in close attendance of the leaders, responded willingly when called upon, wore down LEE GOLD inside the last eighth and was gfling away at the end LEE GOLD raced in close pursuit of JOHNNY BANE, overhauled the latter to tak the ead in the stretch, but was unable to keep when pace challenged bv the winner. BROPHY, unable to reach the leaders during the early running, came determinedly in the strefch drive. JOHNNY BANE had keen early speed, only to falter when the real test came. WISE KING quit badly. SOBRIETY, quickest to begin, disposed of LITTLE DINAH nearing the far turn, drew clear, increased his lead steadily and won with speed in reserve. SANCTITY, away slowly and outrun for the first half mile, closed determinedly in the stretch run. SANDWRACK, outpaced early, came through on the inside at the stretch turn and closed willingly under pressure. LITTLE DINAH had good early speed, was unable to keep pace with the winner, raced head and head with EP1BEAU directly "in hack of the leader, carried EPIBEAU wide into the stretch and was disqualified. EPIBEAU was hard ridden all the way and faltered in the last three-sixteenths. Overweight Little Dinah, 1 pound; Calaveras, 4. THIRD RACE 5-8 MILE. LITTLE PAULA raced to the leader in the opening strides, shook off JINX after rounding the far turn and, opening up a good lead, was never threatened, though ridden out smartly to the end. JINX displayed good speed from the start and held on with good energy throughout, but was not good enough for the winner. WITLESS, unable to keep up early, closed stoutly on the outside through the stretch. CHERRY CAN, well placed, was unable to improve her position under punishment. DURWRACK showed a good effort, saving all possible ground and had no excuses. LITTLE AUDREY could never reach contention. KHAY, away slowly, was outrun. CANDY PRINCE, away fast, opened up a good lead in the opening throe-sixteenths, was rated along in front and, hard ridden at the end, was never seriously threatened. DELIBERATE failed to break alertly as usual, was rushed up fast on the outside and, while holding on well, was not good enough. He pulled up sore. FLAMENCO was going willingly at the end while unable to keep pace early. CHANCE LINE, well up, was unable to improve his position in the closing drive. ENTHUSIASM outbroke his field, only to tire after going the first quarter mile. HOME LOAN was never prominent, his rider finishing with both feet out of the irons. Overweight Chance Line, 2 pounds. FRA DIAVOLO was not hurried during the opening half mile, began moving up steadily after rounding the far turn, closed stoutly and wore down BOBS BOYS inside the last sixteenth. BOBS BOYS, restrained in close pursuit of the pare, wore down KNIGHT WARRIOR lor the lead, but was unable to cope with the bid of the winner. SWAMP ANGEL moved up gamely on the outside and was up in the closing strides to wear down KNIGHT WARRIOR. The latter outran his field to the first turn, was rated along infront, then tired in the last three-eighths. MY BLONDE went to the front in the run to the first turn, met determined opposition from TRUJILLO, disposed of him, but was unable to maintain her advantage, tiring in the closing drive. LONG BIT, away well, was eased back when in close quarters, and came stoutly through the stretch when gaining clear sailing. TRUJILLO, well placed early, faltered in the last Five-sixteenths. FLYING DERE lost ground around the first turn, moved up stoutly on the outside, wore down COUNT TETRARCH but was unable to withstand the winner. COUNT TETRARCH forced the pace of BYE BYE MARY, went to the front when called upon, but was unable to stave off the challenges of the First two. JODA never could reach the leaders.
