t LATONIA TURF NOTES T 5 Acting for W. E. Smith, J. T. Weaver sold the three-year-old brown filly High Girl, by Swinburne Miss Moonlight, a half sister to Likewise and Caresaway, to C. R. Allen. The terms were private. E. Stegewens brought the four-year-old Jay D., the property of George Spaeth, from Beulah Park. Applications for stall reservations for more than 100 horses at Thistle Down were forwarded to judge Joseph A. Murphy, who will serve as directdr of racing at the Cleveland course. Howard Wells, who conditions the horses owned by Howard Oots and Dan B. Midkilf, was an arrival from Chicago and will direct the training of Tcarout for his engagement in the Enquirer Handicap here Saturday. Though Nicks Chuck broke down badly in the left forcankle during the running of the seventh race Wednesday, it was not found necessary to destroy the animal. Grover Hughes returned from a short visit to Lexington and resumed charge of the stable of juveniles he has quartered at the Latonia track. .
