Making th first start of his career, New Issue, frorr the Jones Stock Farm, easily accounted foi the initial race on the program, which was framed for two-year-old maidens, and ten ol that sort went postward in the five furlongs dash. F6ur lengths back of the unsexed !son of Cotlogomor Riviera came Inscolita, from the stable of T. C. Worden, which ran coupled wit?x Think Fast. Sandvato earned the minor portion of the purse for R. As the field turned into the lower turn New Issue had taken command and quickly drew away from the others until he had increased his margin to four lengths. Sandvato had moved into second position and Inscolita was far back and racing wide. Inscolita was gaining steadily on the outside and inside the final eighth mile the filly succeeded in racing past Sandvato to take second honors. One of the largest week-day crowds of the meeting turned out at Riverside Park today to witness another excellent eight-race program, which was mostly over the shorter routes, and sprinters dominated th card. The weather was ideal for the sport and it was thoroughly enjoyed by the fans. Muy Pronto, which recently changed hands here, was the winner of the second race, which was over the five and one-half furlongs route, and twelve of the cheaper sort went postward with Lucky Prospero being installed the public choice, but the best he could do was to finish third. Second honors went to W. A. Mikels Tocaya, which closed gamely in the stretch run to take that portion of the purse from the tiring favorite. Much excitement was aroused when the "Daily Double" on the winners of the second and third races paid the large sum of ,360.20 for . Muy Pronto carried off the second race, paying .80 for , and then Amour furnished the. biggest surprise of the meeting when he scored at 9.80 for in the third event.
