LONG BRANCH TURF NOTES f $ : J. E. Smallman was an arrival from London to inspect his horses that are here in charge of G. Alexandra. H. Giddings sent the Parkwood Stables jumper Irish Envoy to New York to be placed in charge of T. Lee Evans for the remainder of the Metropolitan season. G. K. Allen has turned out Jildac to be freshened up before being placed in training. W. Burrill, who lost the services of the useful plater Sweeplure through sickness a few days ago, purchased Linesman from Mrs. G. Vogel. Vanished and Jack Patches, both of which were starters at Long Branch on Wednesday, will be placed on the outside in their future engagements, according to starter Tom Clark. Jockey Stirling Young departed for Win- nipeg to join the H. C. Hatch stable that will be raced on the western circuit by William H. Bringloe. Judge Fred Middleton and James F. OHara, Jr., both of whom are directors of the Thorncliffe Racing and Breeding Association, departed fqr New Orleans and Baltimore, respectively, on Thursday i
