RIVERSIDE PARK NOTES T -S Mrs. C. E. Mickens, owner of Bob Bruce, winner of the first race Wednesday, was among the arrivals, coming from her home in Houston, Texas. She witnessed the running of the race from the clubhouse. L. Remkas, who rode the colt, had the honor of riding his first winner yesterday at a recognized meeting. Bill Carroll, who has spent the last few days at Riverside Park visiting his brother, Tommy Carroll, trainer for the Hilltop Stable of R. B. George, departed for his home in Brooklyn. "Mickey" Dwyer, supervisor of the certificate department at Riverside Park, announced that there would be a twenty-five day meeting at Pomona, Los Angeles county, beginning September 18 and continuing for twenty-five days. Several of the owners racing here have already signified their intention of participating in the meeting. Jockey M. Garrett, who was one of the leading riders at the recent Beulah Park meeting, rode his first winner at Riverside Park when he piloted Drastic Goal home a winner. Ted Wilson is doing the boys engaging. Several of the stables racing here will be shipped to Longacres after the close of the Riverside meeting. There will be four or five cars in the consignment for the Washington state meeting. Apprentice H. Ferguson, who is under contract to Dr. C. N. Finch, suffered a fractured leg when he fell from -his- mount, Drink-water, in the third race Wednesday. Wittora came out of her race Wednesday in such shape that she will be on the shelf for some time.
