j PAY-OFF IN ALL DEAD HEATS j In the case of any and all dead heats, wagers made away from the track ! the chart prices should prevail if track odds were offered and accepted. Where j house odds were accepted, the procedure should be as follows: If was bet on J each horse and 3 to 1 laid on one horse, the pay-off should be .00 to the player ! and .00 to the layer; if 2 to 1 was laid on the other, the pay-off should be .50 I to, the. player and .50 to the layer. Where one of the horses in a dead heat is J quoted at odds-on, or less than even money, the transaction is a loser. For J Instance, if is bet on a 4 to 5 shot, the pay-off in the dead heat would be 90 j cents to the layer and 90 cents to the player. The amount of money bet, plus the odds laid, with the total divided equally J betAveen the player and layer, is the regular method of pay-off in dead heats I where bookmaking odds prevail.
