BILL, unable to go along with the pace, began his move rounding the far turn, raced to the outside at the stretch turn, closed very fast in the stretch and got up in the final stride. STEEL TOES, never far from the leaders, closed well in the stretch. MORNING DREAM, running well placed, closed with good courage. HASTY HANNA forced the pace to the sixteenth post and could not stave off the final challenge. MOTH BALL had good speed for five-eighths, tiring badly in the final eighth. LONG COUNT, following the pace closely under restraint, took the lead passing the half mile post, opened up a good lead and began tiring a sixteenth out, but held on under urging. PADDYS SISTER, always close up, raced well, but could not menace the winner. ALS PRIDE had good early speed, dropped back at the far turn and, came well at the end. RHYTHMICAL raced evenly throughout. ARDOR could not keep up, closing up a little in the stretch running. SCINTILLA, prominent throughout under urging, could never infprove its position. LUNA MICA, far back early, closed up on the outside around the far turn, continued gamely and was -gaining ground at the end. STOCK MARKET, sluggish in the early running, made up ground throughout. UPPERCUT, crowded back into last place at the break, was taken to the outside, gradually gained ground to lake the lead at the stretch turn and raced on to an easy win. PROSECUTOR, going in his best form, alternated in the early running with PROTEUS, dropped back slightly at the stretch and came again at the end. PROTEUS showed keen early speed to the stretch turn, then tired from there on. CURLING raced well and had no excuses. SERENABIT and LADYLIKE could not keep up at any time. SIGHTING BAR raced in spots and finished going stoutly. PEACE MOVE came wide in the stretch and finished full of run. BEAU FRERE tired after showing speed for a half mile. PLAYOFF, shuffled back after the start, moved up rapidly rounding the far turn and closed gamely. FIFE, always in contention, threatened coming to the stretch turn, then lost ground in the final run. MOMENTARY took the lead at the first turn, made all the pace, but was ridden out at the end to hold off RUTLAND. The latter dropped back in the first half mile, moved up with a rush after reaphing the stretch turn and swerved down to the inner rail when put to the final drive. REVELISH, close to the pace at all times, made a game bid midway of the turn, but tired again when the real test came. LAPLAND also raced forwardly for three-quarters, then tired. HIGHDRY quit badly.
