MARYNELLS LATONIA WORK Probable Enquirer Handicap Favorite Gallops One Mile in 1:42, Handily Felwyn Works. LATONIA, Ky., June 11 The Long Run Stables Marynell, probable favorite for the nineteenth running of the ,000 added Enquirer Handicap, now that Myrtlewood is definitely out of the race, was given her initial trial over the Latonia course this morning by trainer Walter Grater and the five-year-old mare came through with a creditable performance. Sent over the mile route with jockey A. Morgan in the saddle, Marynell was timed in the following fractions by works-watchers, who expressed satisfaction with the trial: Half mile in :49, three-quarters 1:15, seven-eighths in 1:28. and the mile in 1:42, handily. The work, in addition to being a worthy one, conclusively proved the daughter of Billy Brush Hullo is none the worse for her trip from Detroit and is certain to attract considerable support when she goes postward in the mile and a sixteenth event Saturday afternoon. D. W. Butlers Felwyn was the one other Enquirer candidate that was on the track during the work period for an exacting trial. He ran eight furlongs in the following fractions: Half mile in :50, three-quarters in 1:17 and the mile in 1:44.
