Won driving; second and third the same. 4t MARFREE was not hurried during the opening half mile, moved up on the outside thereafter and, closing with a rush, lasted to hold SOPHIST. The latter, unable to keep up early, closed with a rush through the stretch. HASTINIP, restrained in pursuit of the early pace, loomed up menacingly on the outside when reaching the stretch, but was unable to improve her position in the closing drive. CURB BIT closed with a rush on the inside through the last eighth and was overtaking the leaders at every stride. CATCHALL showed good speed, disposed of STRENUOUS and faltered in the stretch run. DOUBLE SCOTCH, away well and kept close up throughout, moved through on the inside at the stretch turn, saved a great deal of ground and, responding gamely to punishment, assumed a slight lead inside the last seventy yards and held on stubbornly to the close. BANJORINE raced into contention with a rush rounding the far turn, continued to race on the outside of the leaders and was up to take the place in the closing stride. CONSERVATIVE displayed good speed and fought it out courageously when overtaken. BAIN MARIE was unable to reach the leaders, but turned in a good effort. CHALPHONE closed some ground in the last quarter. GLAD WINGS was caught in a jam in the opening quarter and was snatched up. Overweight Banjorine, pound ; Bain Marie, 1 ; Early Settler, 2i. Won driving; second and third the same. MAPLE QUEEN, slightly restrained while racing within striking distance of the pace, responded gamely to hard urging and was going well at the end. MY BLONDE, never far from the command, took the lead when called upon and, despite holding on gamely, was unable to keep pace when challenged. COYA lacked speed to keep up early, saved ground in the stretch and closed with good energy. MISS PREMIER, on the outside, closed some ground, but was unable to reach the leaders. SEABISCUIT was not hurried during the early stages, began moving up steadily leaving the back stretch, closed with a rush through the stretch and, wearing down DELIBERATE, won going away. DELIBERATE displayed speed from the start, opened up a good lead and, despite holding on well, was unable to cope with the winners closing rush. LIBERAL was restrained while holding to a prominent position and held on willingly when placed under punishment. BLACK MISTRESS made a detcrmined bid to reach the pacemaker in the run down the back stretch, but was not aood enough and tired in the last five-sixteenths. SUNANAIR was going well in the closing stages. SOBRIETY displayed speed for a half mile. HAPPY BOLIVAR had good early speed and was not punished when he began to tire. RUSHAWAY displayed speed from the start, raced into the lead after straightening out in the back stretch, drew clear, surrendered the lead momentarily to GALLANT GAY nearing the stretch and appeared beaten a sixteenth from the finish when he came with a sparkling burst of speed to get up in the concluding stride. GALLANT GAY, prominent from the start, drew out in the stretch, but tired slightly near the end and just failed to last. KNIGHT WARRIOR, well placed early, made repeated bids to reach the leaders, moved up and held on well to the close, but was no match for the first two. BROWN TOP was never a threat. SWAMP ANGEL was outrun. FAUST moved up nearing the far turn while racing on the inside, was caught in close quarters and had to bo taken up. SIXTH RACE 1 1-8 MILES. Top Row, Oct. 16, 1935 1:49 4 116. AMERICAN PRINCE outran his field from the start, opened up a good lead and, despite holding on gamely, was not good enough. CROWNED HEAD, well placed, faltered in the last quarter of a mile. RAMS HEAD began moving up leaving the back stretch, lost ground at the stretch turn and closed in determined fashion. LIGHTHEELED could never reach the leaders. DANCING BOY was outrun for the first half mile, moved up fast when called upon, wore down the leaders before reaching the stretch, but had to be hard ridden to hold FLYING DERE safe. The latter, outpaced for the first three-quarters, closed with a rush and was going gamely at the close. INFINITATE was well up throughout. ROCKY PRINCE, prominently placed, gained a brief command in the run down the back stretch and fought it out determinedly when overtaken. COUNT DEAN had early speed. GOLDEN WAY, shut off at the first turn, moved up on the inside down the back stretch, only to be blocked and taken up once again while in close quarters rounding from the back stretch, and could never threaten thereafter.
