GAY BIRD was never far from the pace and showed a game effort, but was not good enough. CLOIDO made up some ground to finish well. OPIUM tired a trifle. EIGHTH POLE plodded along in his usual style. COMRADESHIP was permitted to drop far out of it in the early running and was never dangerous. TRY IT was in the middle of the track most of the way.
