AQUEDUCT TURF NOTES Starter George Cassidy fined L. Fallon 5 for disobedience at the post in the first race Monday. All layers have been requested not to display any prices on the photo finish while waiting for the result. This custom has created considerable excitement and it is therefor considered for the best interest of racing that the request be respected, was the gist of a statement issued by J. G. Cav-anagh Monday afternoon. Trainer Pete Coyne stated that J. E. Wideners Brevity would be transferred to Saratoga with the division of the stable at Belmont Park but that no effort would be made to race him. Coyne will take Optic, Fencing, Advocater, Magic Circle, Premiere and Scene Shifter to Arlington Park. Howard Oots notified the Empire City Association that he will ship fourteen horses there for that meeting. C. S. Howard of California will ship twelve from Latonia. Jockey J. Bejshak stated that he expects to resume riding within the next three weeks. After the antics of Raymond Bretons Portunus in the second race in which he unseated apprentice Habeeb three different times, the stewards ordered his entry refused for the remaining days of the meeting. Jockey W. D. Wright, J. E. Wideners contract rider, left for Chicago after the running of the final race Saturday. Jockey C. Eye returned from New England and reported back to Andy Schuttinger. He will ride out the Empire City meeting. Stake blanks for the fall meeting at Arlington Downs were received here Monday. John Groh made his first appearance since his discharge from the hospital for a throat operation. H. H. Cotton, well-known California sportsman, was among the visitors. He attended the Democratic national convention at Philadelphia. Jockey M. Moser arrived from Chicago and will ride here. W. Leonard accepted his first mount through the field when he rode Seafarin Dan in the second race Monday. Al Jolson arrived from Hollywood for a few days racing. A. K. Macomber arrived from California for a few days racing, James Fitzsimmons, Jr., according to the doctors, passed the crisis of pneumonia and is on his way to recovery. A. J. Joyner returned from Kentucky where he inspected the G. D. Widener stock and reported that the drought has brought about a serious condition in that state. Watchmen are on guard day and night about the farm to prevent fires. The stock, however, is in good condition. George Odom will transfer the main division of the R. L. Gerry-Marshall Field stable to Empire City for that meeting. Jockey J. Gilbert will accompany a division of the J. H. Whitney stable, which will be shipped to Chicago for the Arlington Park meeting. Trainer Brennan of the Greentree Stable will transfer a division to Empire City and ship the others to Saratoga. W. T. Anderson will start his first representative this summer when Carlovinian parades postward in the first race on Tuesday.
