Start good and slow. Won driving; second and third the same. PASS EM BY was rushed up fast after the break, bore out badly at the turn and carried THOMAS C. wide, bore in steadily thereafter toward the finish and his rider was forced to take him up sharply to keep from interfering with his opposition at the end. SILVER PALM raced forwardly all the way, but apparently was in close quarters in the final eighth and finished well under urging. SUN LAMP slipped through on the inside rounding the turn, showed speed under pressure and held on well. ETHELS CHOICE was well up in the early stages, swerved to the inside nearing the eighth post and finished well on the inside. THOMAS C. was carried wide rounding the turn and was eliminated. SxVNTI QUARANTI jumped well throughout, was taken back midway of the distance, moved into command on the inside when called upon and drew away, winning with speed in reserve. PERSIAN PRINCE moved up fast on the inside after taking the eighth fence, bumped SEAFARIN DAN, forcing the latter over on CAPSTAN and Finished resolutely thereafter to outgame BUDGET BOY. The latter, in near pursuit of the pace from the start, responded to pressure and held on well to the finish. .CAPSTAN made a bad landing at the first and fourth fences, then tired at the end. SEAFARIN DAN faltered badly after being close up the first turn of the field. SYDNEY quit badly and was not persevered with. Scratched 28456Occoquan, 131; 28352 Old Bachelor, 144. BAD DREAMS was forced to come to the extreme outside and closed gamely. GOLD QUEST was badly blocked and could not j?et through on the inside, forcing its bov to take up at the eighth post. FLYANETTA showed a flash of early speed. CHURCH PARADE raced evenly all the way. ROYAL RAIMENT showed a flash of early speed. MARCABALA moved into command after the break, showed good speed throughout, responded when called upon in the stretch run and drew away, winning with speed in reserve. BRUSH HOOK, outrun in the early stages, was placed under severe pressure in the stretch run and finished with a rush. PREVENTION moved up gamely when called upon after rounding the stretch turn, but faltered under urging at the end. TOBY TYLER crossed over sharply nearing the far turn and bumped DOWN UNDER, forcing the latter to take up. He raced in pursuit of the pace thereafter, but tired at the end. DOWN UNDER was going strongly when forced to take up, came to the outside and finished well. FALEEN was outrun all the way. Scratched 28191 Judges Verdict, 113. Overweight Faleen, 3 pounds. PEPPER PATCH improved her position steadily under urging and closed resolutely, but she swerved at the end. TIME TO GO, a trailer to the stretch, turn, made up ground steadily through the stretch, but was blocked when DISTRACT swerved. LETTER BOX, well up all the way, came again at the end.
