CONSISTENT FILLY RUST Wins Featured Beldame Handicap From Jesting and Reminding. Daughter of Spanish Prince U. Has Plenty to Spare at Finish High Wind Bar Against Fast Time. NEW YORK, N. T., June 29. Rust, the consistent daughter of Spanish Prince II. Anna Horton, which races for Louis Strube, was winner of the best offering of the Queens County Jockey Club at Aqueduct today, when she won with plenty to spare over Mrs. Ethel D. Jacobs Jesting and the Wheat-ley Stables Reminding, the only ones to start against her. This was in the Beldame Handicap, at one mile, which was confined to the fillies and mares, and she was in receipt of three pounds on - the scale from Jesting. It was a delightful day for the racing, though a high wind that blew up the course was a bar to fast time. Another big crowd was in attendance and the sport was excellent. In the feature offering Jesting was the one to cut out the running, but Malley had Rust under a steadying restraint back of the daughter of Snob II., and they were both outrunning Reminding, the light weight of the trio. Malley made no move with Rust until after rounding into the stretch. There he moved up with Rust until she was alongside the pacemaker. As he came alongside Gilbert roused his mount and for a few strides she held Rust, then the Strube filly drew away and, while her winning margin was only a length, she was in hand crossing the line. Reminding had cut no figure in the running and she was six lengths back of the other two. Rust had been rested up for a couple of weeks, but she was brought back in excellent form. It was her third winning race of the year in eight starts, but in each start she had shared in the purse money, having been three times second and twice third. Samuel Deutchs Pass Em By, disqualified in his previous race for a stretch foul when he bore over sharply to pinch off Magic Circle, was winner of the opening five furlongs dash, but he again showed the same disposition to bear in, and Sammy Renick, all through the final stages, had no end of trouble preventing him from again fouling. It was a camera finish, and John Hay Whitneys Sun Lamp and J. M. Zimmers Silver Palm were closely lapped on the winner though it was readily determined he was the winner. This gelding was racing between Pass Em By, which was on the outside, and Sun Lamp, which raced along on the rail. The popular combination of Thomas Hitchcocks silks and the amateur, Rigan Mc-Kinney, to ride, prevailed in the steeplechase over the two-mile course when Santi Quaranti was the winner, with Lewis R. Stuyvesants Persian Prince just beating the Greentree Stables Budget Boy for second place. Far back of these Capstan was fourth, and the only other starters were Sea-farin Dan and Sydney, which followed in the order named. Santi Quaranti was much the best of the company, and he dominated all the running. McKinney had him under a steadying restraint as he showed the way and, never relinquishing the lead, he rapped him with the whip going to the next to last fence to have him come away, readily and be the winner by three lengths. The third was a five furlongs dash for maiden two-year-old fillies. This brought a score for A. G. Vanderbilts silks when Posted, a daughter of Swift and Sure and Postage, scored rather handily from Andy Schuttingers Sunfeathers and Marshall Fields Wound Up, another appearing for the first time, was third over Bad Dreams, which raced for the Greentree Stable. Gold Quest, the favorite of the company, was bottled up on the inner rail in the early running, and Sanford had to take up repeatedly, his mount never having a chance to take a free stride. A. A. Baronis Marcabala was an easy winner of the six and a half furlongs dash for three-year-olds, which was the fourth offering when he easily led home the Greentree Stables Brush Hook and Mrs. L. H. Nimkoffs Prevention was a close third before Toby Tyler. Down Under again disappointed when he ran ah unaccountably bad race.
