LATONIA TURF NOTES ! $ . and Childs and Walker have completed plans for shipment of theirhorses to Empire City next Sunday morning-. The horses are Bibbies Choice, Shining Jewel, French Princess, Watersplash, Pastry, Arthur Metz, Bluespur and Hideout. In the same shipment Frank Swain is sending Just Buck. Apprentice C. Swain goes along to do the riding. Jockey Joe Mattioli, who piloted Hal Price Headleys Sparta to victory in the Latonia Oaks last Saturday left for Detroit and; will resume riding there Monday. Weights for the Independence Day Handicap, ,000 added feature at a mile and one-eighth, to be run "the final day of the meeting, will be assigned by haridicapper W. H. Shelley Tuesday afternoon. Entries closed on May 6 with forty-two nominations. The thoroughbreds that A. "Speck" Dunn is training for D. W. Butler, movie director, were loaded on an express car Sunday morning with Empire City as their destination. The racers included Manners Man, First Entry, Felwyn, Forewarned, King Cicero, Holdum Brown, Super Luck and Judge Blake. Jack Howard announced that he will send his entire stable back to his Lexington farm to be freshened up until the opening of the Dade Park meeting August 8. Thomas Piatts thoroughbreds, including Master Beau, Listening, Byrdel, Forget, Macaw Lee, Flip Flap, Byrdine, Mr. Mack Dux, China Gal, Watched, Ottoman and two unnamed two-year-olds were shipped to Arlington Park, Sunday, by trainer J. P. Sallee. Jockey Frankie Grill, who came from Omaha to ride Seventh Heaven in the Latonia Oaks Saturday, returned to the Nebraska city to rejoin the W. C. Goodloe stable that Amos Wallin is campaigning at that point. Jockeys Charley Stevenson and George South made their departures for Arlington Park Where they will ride throughout the meeting. Stevenson is. attached to the Dixi- Stable, while South will do most of the g for H. H. Battle. . .. G. H. Marlman left for Empire City with the fleet sprinter, Isaiah, and the useful distance runners, Passalong and Stealingaway, which he will campaign at the New York track.. .
