LE KARONGA went to the front at once to open a long lead approaching the stretch turn and, going well to the finish, held LITTLE HANK. The latter came fast on the inside of the winner through the stretch and was going well at the end. JOHNNIE NOMARK showed much improvement. GIFFIN W. raced fairly well. UNLUCKY LINK quit badly. QUINDARO, saved in the early running, was permitted to race beyond the middle of the. track rounding the stretch turn, but came very fast to catch MISS BALKO in the last sixteenth and win going away. MISS BALKO displayed the most early speed, but was used up and had little left. TANKIE went fairly well. OWITCH was unable to keep up. ROUGH CREEK was never a serious contender.
