Won driving; second and third the same. CAREFUL MISS, strongly handled and racing close to the pacemaker in the early running, took command inside the final eighth and, continues stubbornly, outstayed SAVAGE BEAUTY. The latter, hard hustled to remain near the leaders, responded to punishment in the last quarter mile and closed resolutely. THE SCHEMER bore out badly after the start, improved her position steadily and came determinedly approaching the finish. STARAWAY had to be hard ridden to gain a clear lead, saved much ground entering the stretch, hut tired steadily under punishment. SWEET DESIRE raced prominently for a half mile, then tired. PHLOX was on the outside all the way and could not menace. HAPPY PINAH raced evenly. MATTAPONY showed early speed. Scratched 34770 Light Chatter, 115. Overweight The Schemer, 3 pounds. LEE LAFFOON overcame interference at the first turn, Vas rated closer up than usual, rallied nicely to a hard drive and, finishing between horses in the last eighth, was up in the concluding strides. ROLLICK worked his way forward steadily in the last half mile and finished determinedly on the inside. DEARZIN, prominently placed from the beginning, challenged strongly at the stretch turn and fought it out stoutly until the close. SUN ABBOT moved into the lead midway of the back stretch, was steadied until challenged, then held on strongly. GOLDEN PLAY came over sharply at the start to block HAY IMAGE, LIGHT ACTION and ITALIAN HARRY. He improved his position on the outside and was racing gamely at the end. CHAMBERSBURGER, going in greatly improved fashion, was rated within striking distance of the leaders until leaving the back stretch, swung to the outside for the drive, wore the leaders down at the eighth post and came out when hustled at the end. WATERMAN, close up early, rallied when put to a drive, but was no match for the winner. KIMPTON outran his field in the early running, saved ground and held on gamely under punishment. BABWRACK, slow to settle into his stride, closed with a rush in the -last half mile. PASSING EVE raced in spots. TEDDY THE BOLD could not stay when hard urged. EVENING TIDE, kept close to the pacemaker after losing command leaving the back stretch, responded lo severe pressure after reaching the stretch and, finishing determinedly, outstayed MERRYMOOD when Hearing the finish. MERRYMOOD, on the inside from the lieginning, moved into a short lead in the last half mile, saved ground and held on willingly under strong handling. UNEASY, slow to get into full stride, flme through on the inside and finished full of run. GREY GOLD raced in tight quarters early, gained racing room and finished with good energy. BIOLOGIST followed close up, but failed to threaten when placed to punishment. MAUY KEEN was unable to reach the leaders. NOBLE BOY displayed a lot of speed in th first quarter. DANCING DOLL, a keen factor in the early stages, tired in the last quarter mile. SUN ANTIOCH was rushed off his feet alter the start to reach the front and was done after a half mile. KNIGHTS FANCY was rated close to SIR WINDSOR the first three-quarters, moved into a short lead in the final eighth, but could not withstand the winner and barely lasted to stall off THIRTEEN STARS. The latter, a trailer for three-quarters, finished with a bold rush in the late stages. SIR WINDSOR was rushed around his field to take command, showed good speed, but tired when caught. FLUFFY LEE, away in the first flight, "moved up steadily when leaving the back stretch, wore down FLOWER TIME midway of the stretch and was kept under strong urging to the finish. PORTDEN, forwardly placed after breaking fast, held on gamely in the final drive. FLOWER TIME took an easy lead entering the back stretch, saved ground all the way, but tired in the last quarter mile. PANALONG, away very slowly and far back, closed a big gap in the last five-sixteenths. PAN TOY was away poorly and was never dangerous thereafter. ROWES CRUMP could not menace.
