With the start of the Texas Jockey Clubs pretentious fall meeting at Arlington Downs less than two weeks off, horsemen already are I beginning to ship their charges to the big Waggoner track in anticipation of the 00,-000 purse distribution, and the coming week will find many of the barns occupied. Frank Gilpin,- head trainer for E. F. Sea-i gram, famous Canadian millionaire sports-! man, who has nominated Stand Pat for the 5,000 Wcggoner Memorial, feature of the stakes for the meeting, will load eighteen i thoroughbreds at Toronto on October 16. Accompanying this shipment will be C. Mc-: Tague nad F. Mann, who will do the bulk of the riding for the Seagram colorbearers 1 at Arlington. i A. A. "Bert" Baroni, with Top Row, winner of the 1935 Waggoner Memorial, and Goldeneye, with which the Nevada sports-; man hopes to annex the 1936 renewal, and twelve other thoroughbreds will leave New York on the same date, and the. arrival of these stables will add greatly to the equine colony "at Arlington Downs. I Shipments scheduled for arrival the last - of the week include horses belonging to P. L. Kellay, A. A. Young, J. A. Bainton, N. W., I Burkhart, W. L. Hoag and C. E. Davison,-; whose string includes Salaam, Garden Message, Captain Red and sixteen others, j Presiding steward Sam C. Nuckols, who : has been doing missionary work for the Texas Jockey Club throughout Kentucky, will be one of the first officials to arrive, coming in Monday afternoon from his home j at Versailles. Associate steward W. H. Shelley will arrive October 18, with placing1 judge Charles Kenney coming in October 19. : Larry Bogcnschutz, newly named placing I judge, will arrive October 21.
