GANNONNIC, closer to the early pace than usual, came through on the rail entering the final quarter and, under a hard drive, wore down SPANISH RED. The latter set the pace under slight restraint, lost ground at the stretch turn, but came aeain in the last sixteenth. RICH GIRL lost some ground racing wide, but closed fast under a weak ride. BISTRITA was unprepared when the break came, worked her way up gradually and closed a good gap. SHADY WOOD was never a factor after the first quarter. FLIGHT OF GOLD tired. BROWN POLLY, going in her best form and well handled, took the lead soon after the break, was headed by ON THE GO in the final eighth, but came again and outstayed her rival. ON THE GO worked her way up steadily on the outside, responded well to urging in the final quarter, but hung near the end. LARO KEYS was a factor all the way and held on camelv. BOURBON ROSE improved her position gradually and showed a good effort, finishing strongly. NORTHERN SLIP tired. WINNING WOMAN dropped out of it early. FABULOUS quit badly after rushing into contention. Overweight Hurry Hawk, 2 pounds. Corrected weight Donna Lascari, 109; Augeas, 112.
