GLEN RIDDLE FARM LEADER War Admiral Outstanding Surprise of Havre de Grace Meeting, Divide 13,750 Among the Money Winning Owners During First Fall Meeting in Maryland. The surprising victory of War Admiral, the Glen Riddle Farm Stables thrce-ycar-old, in the Eastern Shore Handicap on September 19, was the highlight of a successful eleven-day meeting at Havre de Grace, the first of the fall season in Maryland. Both War Admiral and the Glen Riddle Farm Stable took first place among the money winners in their respective divisions, namely, the equine and money winning owners list. Havre de Grace opened on September 18 and closed on September 30, the Havre de Grace Handicap occupying the feature spot on the final program. A total of 13,750 was divided among money winning owners, a daily average of 0,340.91. Seventy-seven races were run, four of them stakes. The Glen Riddle Farm Stable, with the money winnings of War Admiral in the Eastern Shore Handicap, added to a purse victory and third money in two other races, won 2,200. Mrs. Emil Denemark was second wiih 350. War Admiral won 1,250, Tatterdemalion ,250 and Roman Soldier ,850. Jack Westrope proved best among the riders when he scored with nine of his forty-three mounts for a percentage of .23. Bert Michcll, the Denemark trainer, had his string in brilliant form and saddled eight winners during the eleven days, not far from an average of one winner daily.
