ZIPALONG, away slowlyand forced to race on the outside, improved his position, was steered wide for the best going entering the stretch, wore down WISE CROSS in the last eighth and won drawing away. ARCTIC LAND rushed to the front, gave nay when challenged, but came again in the last stages and finished strongly. WISE CROSS, a strong factor from the start, took command on the inside, drew clear rapidly, but tired in the last eighth. SINGLEAM made up ground. CORA T. showed a good effort. ABBY B. was outrun. The latter, in close quarters while improving his position, was guided inside, but tired after reaching the lead. BRINY DEEP, away fastest of all from outside the stalls, was unable to keep up, but came fast in the stretch. ODDESA CLARK had no mishaps. SILVER TIDINGS tired after reaching contention. ESCOPETTE closed with a rush. HAEHEART raced on the inside in the stretch. STURDY BOY was done after a half mile. TIME LIGHT was outrun. The latter, outrun for five-eighths, improved its position on the outside and was wearing the winner down. KAVALRY JACK rushed to the front, gave way when challenged, came again approaching the final quarter, dropped back entering the stretch, but closed fast when steered to the inside. HILL JIMMY, outrun for five-eighths, reached the lead when sent to the inside for the drive, but tired rapidly in the last eighth. LITTLE BUBBLES quit. PHIL MARCUS showed nothing.
