RUDOLPH LAD, going in his best form, was blocked at the far turn, worked his way between the field in the last eighth and, responding well to strong handling, was up in the last few strides. EPI WITCH displayed good speed throughout, lost some ground entering the stretch and held on gamely. TAKE DOWN was hard hustled for the entire trip, got through on the inside, but tired in the drive. RED ROD was rushed up to the pacemaker after going a half mile, took the lead in the last quarter, but tired near the end. PROPOSING had no excuse. STROLLING HOME was through early.
