ANNOUNCE LINCOLN FIELDS STAKES AND PURSES SOON HOMEWOOD, 111., June 25. Although he had considered remaining until Monday because of the increased scope of improvements at Lincoln Fields, Col. Matt J. Wynn today hurriedly prepared to return to Latonia in time to be at his office there tomorrow, another important day at the Covington track. In a statement today, Col. Winn said that, except for a few minor details, plans for alterations and new features to be made at Lincoln Fields before the opening of the meeting on August 2 have been outlined. Announcement of stakes and purses to be hung up during the thirty days racing at the Crete track will be made shortly, he said. Col. Winn will return to Chicago a week from Tuesday, and from then on will spend all of his time at his local headquarters until fall.
