TORONTO OWNER TRIUMPHS Blue Gum Carries Routcliffe Silks to Victory in Headliner at Blue Bonnets Course. MONTREAL, Que., June 25 The West mount Purse, run as the fifth event, featured the afternoon sport of the sixth day of the Blue Bonnets meeting and brought together nine under claiming conditions to compete over five and one-half furlongs. Clear, sunny skies and a fast track for the first time at the meeting brought out another surprisingly large crowd. Blue Gum, racing in the royal blue and white silks of A. Routcliffe of Toronto, proved best in the feature when she led from soon after the start to the end and had a length and one-half lead over the K. L. K. Stables homebred Galthea. Third place went to C. Campeaus Molasses Bill, a head back and two lengths before McKell. There was little delay at the start and the field got away in good order. Harris, astride the Chicle filly, lost no time- in sending her into the lead and as the half-mile ground was reached had opened up a length and one-half lead.
