LAT0NIA TURF NOTES t 4 The pretentious stable of thoroughbreds that Frank P. Letellier of New Orleans is training for himself, J. W. Bell and A. J. Stallings, departed Friday night for Arlington Park, and will be campaigned over the Illinois track during the remainder of the summer. Letellier leaves Latonia by motor Saturday. Tommy Oliphant and Tommy Powell reports that many of the stables now being campaigned at Latonia, will be present for the summer meeting of the Dade Park Jockey Club. Applications for stall reservations are coming in rapidly. Apprentice Dee Packer, who was uninjured when thrown from Jessie O., Thursday afternoon, will ride her Saturday, and leaves Sunday for Arlington Park to join the stable of F. P. Letellier, his contract employer. Condition books for the forthcoming meeting at Thistle Down, to get under way on July 12, arrived here and have been distributed to horsemen, who will go to the Cleveland track at the close of the Latonia season. Baylor O. Hickman, Louisville, Ky., sportsman, came in for the first time of the season to be on hand to view Arabs Arrow perform in the Enquirer Handicap on Saturday. He will return to his home Saturday night. Jockey Earl Pool, who has been suffering with an attack of sinus, is much improved after a few days treatment. The veteran anticipates returning to the saddle Saturday at Latonia. Reelaway, which has had to be placed on the outside of the gate in every start, .has been barred from further racing by starter William Hamilton, who has been quite patient with the fractious animal. Two of the racers that Mrs. R. J. Murphy has at Latonia will be transferred to Arlington Park, Sunday, according to the plans of Otis Clelland. Little Nymph and one other, to be selected, will make -the journey and will be accompanied by jockey M. L. Fallon; The cracked heels that the Park View Stables speedy colt, Congressman, suffered in a recent workout, are mending well, according to trainer Tom Young, and he is hopeful of having his charge ready for his engagement in the Cincinnati Trophy, a week from Saturday. Jockey Joe Cowley, who has been inactive since the Churchill Downs meeting, plans to resume riding here next week. He will go to Thistle Down following the closing of Latonia. T. L. Pierce, veteran Kentucky trainer, who has high regard for the ability of C. R. Jordans two-year-old, Domiworth, a two-time winner, does not expect to take the colt up until the fall.
