LADY BANNER had speed from the start and, taking a short lead after turning for home, had enough left to hold BELVALOU. The latter raced well to finish fast and gamely on the outside of the winner. BURLINGTON BILL Closed ground steadily and was going well at th end. LADY R. also finished gamely. PAT SKILFUL was eased back when in close quarters early, then saved ground on the stretch turn to loom up dangerously, but tired near the end. DARK DAY was never a contender. DOMINANT STAR had the most early speed but, although saving ground in the stretch, tired near the finish. LUGEN LUGGAGE raced evenlv. MOONFACE unseated his rider at the start. COPPER LAD showed good early speed and held on fairly well. AIR LINE was in close quarters on the inside in the early running. GATEWAY turned in a weak effort and was never .a dangerous contender. RAINBEARER was outrun to the stretch, then came fast on the outside to take a good lead near the end, but almost lost when his rider appeared to become overconfident right at the end. BOMOUNT followed the pace of MARIA JULIET closely, saved ground in the stretch and, coming again under hard urging near the end, was beaten but narrowly. MARIA JULIET had the most early speed but swung a trifle wide on the stretch turn, then continued well to the end. CHICKEN LADY lacked early speed, but closed ground. WILD LOVE tired.
