t ARLINGTON PARK NOTES f Advance box reservations for opening day, the running of the 0,000 Stars and Stripes on July 5 and the Classic Stakes on July 21 are forty per cent ahead of ihis period last year, reports general manager Roy Car-ruthers. "One of the most encouraging preseason signs we have received," commented the Arlington Park officials. Mose Lowenstein got in with nine horses and Jake Lowenstein vanned over fourteen from Washington Park to Arlington Park. Trainer Anthony Pelleteri shipped over twelve horses to join those of his large public stable already on the grounds at Arlington Park. Milky Way stable also augmented their division here by three, "while Valdina Farms sent in five horses. The attractive lawns and terraces of the exclusive Post and Paddock Club will be thronged with gay parties if the advance reservations for luncheons on opening day are to be taken as a criterion. Reservations for parties in the clubhouse dining room also are pouring in, report Arlington Park officials. Sweep Like, a candidate for the Inaugural Handicap on Monday, and Gyral, which is engaged in the 0,000 Stars and Stripes on July 5, arrived at Arling Park Friday morning. This pair forms the advance guard of the strong string that will be campaigned here by T. D. Buhl, young Detroit millionaire sportsman.
