1 WASHINGTON PARK NOTES I $, s Tris Speaker, one of the greatest outfielders of all time, was a visitor at Washington Park Friday. He came to Chicago from Cleveland to fill a three weeks radio contract. No longer connected with the game in which he won fame, Speaker now is head of a large whiskey distributing firm in Cleveland. W. F. Ward, who was thrown heavily from Ann Joy while at the post Thursday, was back in action Friday, none the worse for his experience. After a visit to his home in Panama, apprentice H. Mora returned and reported to the stable of Mrs. C. E.;Stewart C. E. Holland has taken ove"r the training of Col. Pete for P. Michon. Frank Grand formerly conditioned the horse. C. J. Fitzgerald, Sr., steward representing the Illinois Racing Commission, returned to Washington Park after a visit of a few days at his home in Riverside, Conn. George Woolf arrived here from the East- to -ride in the Washington Park Futurity.
