j 1 ! FAST TRACK FOR ENQUIRER Number, of Starters Increased Because of Probable Conditions. Ten Named Overnight for Latonias Saturday Feature Dnieper to Carry Top Weight of Field. ; LATONIA, Ky., June 25. With, a fast tqack in prospect for the twentieth running: of the Enquirer Handicap, the entire field of ten named in the overnight entries are regarded as certain starters in the ,500 added fixture that will feature tomorrow afternoons eight-race program at historic Latonia race track.. The number of starters was increased as the result of Kirby Ramseys decision to send Palamede and Indian Head, eligibles from the stable of W. J. Sprow, Cleveland sportsman, from Washington Park to fulfill their engagement in the stake. It was an eleventh hour decision made by Ramsey, who accompanied the two racers, which arrived by van this afternoon from the Windy City. Another which had not been considered as a probable starter heretofore but which is named in the overnight entries, is E. Mc-jAtees Aunt Myrtle. The steady manner in which the five-year-old mare has been tak-j ing to training prompted her handlers to make a bid for the prize, which has a gross value of ,300, of which amount 00 goes to the owner of the second horse, 50 for third and 25 for fourth. FIRST FOR OLDER HORSES. The Enquirer Handicap is the first of the Latonia stakes fixtures for three-year-olds and upwards over a distance of ground, as the Latonia Inaugural, which featured the opening of the season, was at a distance of six furlongs, thus enabling the distance formers of the older division their first opportunity of the season to compete for a stake. Though Mose Goldblatts Dnieper has been assigned top weight of 115 pounds by handi-capper William H. Shelley, it is not likely that the four-year-old chestnut son of Kiev Nerva will attract sufficient support to rule the choice. Instead, Lucas B. Combs Wood-berry, one of the two three-year-olds scheduled to compete, and J. J. Farrells Just Frank, a recent winner in fast time over a distance, should share favoritism. J I There was very little activity among the Enquirer hopefuls during the training period, the trials consisting exclusively of "blowouts." Woodberry was sent a handy three-eighths as, his final prep in :38, while Dnieper negotiated a half mile in :48 and Arabs Arrow three furlongs in :37, handily, which completed the trials of the Enquirer starters.
