IMPROVEMENTS AT HAWTHORNE HOMEWOOD, 111., June 25. Busy with the program of improvements and changes being made to the plant, Charles Krutchoff, president of Hawthorne, is a daily visitor to that west side track. Under his direction, some of the more important work under way there includes the transfer of the paddock to its original site at the far end of the general enclosure, the construction of a new restaurant and cocktail room between the clubhouse and grandstand, and extensive decorating and beautifying of the plant.
