LOST FRIEND IN FAST RACE Runs Six Furlongs in 1 :11 to Take Chief Honors in Fridays Best Contest at Agawam. AGAWAM, Mass., June 25. Topping any of her previous performances, A. C. Bost-wicks Lost Friend, a well-backed favorite, was winner of the unnamed feature on the program of the Agawam Racing Association at Agawam today. Rigged under the light weight of 105 pounds, which included a pound more than she was scheduled to carry due to the overweight of her rider, G. Rose, the bay miss accomplished her purpose in a thrilling finish, and it took every ounce of her courage to speed on by Bobs Boys and Miss Premier for her initial score of the year. The triumph of Lost Friend came in the sixth race, which was under allowance conditions, and her victory was the most popular of the afternoon, as several favorites fell by the wayside earlier. Through the last eighth the trio engaged in a terrific argument and it was right at the close that Lost Friend scored by a half length in the fast time of 1:11. Favored by an ideal day for the sport, a large and enthusiastic throng turned out for the racing, which was conducted over a lightning fast racing strip.
