TO THE RESCUE raced to the front at once, withstood determined opposition from FEEDMAN, disposed of him and, hard ridden all the last eighth, had enough in reserve to hold safe the challenge of GRAND LIGHT. The latter, under urging from the start, came to the outside for the closing test and held on willingly to the close. BOB C. moved up gamely on the inside and held on with good energy to the end. FEEDMAN, away alertly, displayed good speed in disputing the command with the winner but was forced to give way in the last three-sixteenths. MINTSON was well placed early but unable to keep pace in the drive. GARCIA was unruly at the post and was unable to reach the leaders. FOLK DANCE, away slowly, raced into contention with a rush after rounding the far turn, but was unable to close any ground thereafter. Scratched 42932 Little Sally, 100; 43291 Mightily, 109. BRIGHT DON was taken up in the opening strides and raced far out of it early, moved up fast in the last three-eighths and came with good courage. BUGLE ANN was poorly ridden, was kept down on the inside and, under reserve, could never threaten. WISE DORA came with a belated burst of speed after racing far out of contention during the early running. SOCIAL ERROR was well placed in the early running but tired in the last five-sixteenths. ZEVANAID went to the front in the opening strides, drew away into a good lead and, dominating th running throughout, was never seriously threatened. BLUE DONNA was far back early, began moving up on the inside in the last three-eighths and was along in the closing strides to wear down APPREHEND. The latter, in closest chase of the pace for the greater part of the trip, faltered in the last sixteenth. HURTLE reared into the air at the start and was away slowly. He closed a big gap in the last quarter mile and would probably have been third in a few more strides. ADDIS ABABA faltered after showing early speed. JESSIE V. L. tired badly. GOOD DAME raced prominently all the way and held on with good courage in the closing drive. LADDIE STONE was prominent throughout but unable to reach the leaders when placed to punishment. GALLANT PAT trailed early and closed with a rush on the outside through the stretch. WISE KING, hard ridden early in an effort to enter into contention, was never able to endanger the leaders. DOM MANUEL was on the outside throughout, ran up on the heels of WISE KING when reaching the stretch, but was forced to take up. He was apparently beaten at the time. Continued on twenty-sixth oage.. FAR CRY was prominent throughout, disposed of PEERLESS PAL and, gaining a slight lead, was unable to cope with the bid of the winner. ASHEN was rated along back of the pace, responded gamely to punishment, but was unable to reach the Rrst two. PEERLESS PAL had keen speed, but faltered in the last quarter mile. The latter had speed from the start, drew away into a good lead and, rated in front, fought it out gamely when challenged, but was not quite good enough. OUT OF STEP, greatly benefited when the leaders raced wide at the stretch turn, moved up menacingly, although unable to improve his position under punishment in the last three-sixteenths. TELLINGYOU dropped back badly in the run to the first turn, moved up on the inside down the back stretch, came to the outside in the stretch and, closing stoutly, was up for the place in the last strides. MISS PECAN, restrained early, held on well to the end. LATERAL I ASS loomed up menacingly down the back stretch, but dropped back after making his bid.
