PRINCESS LADY, tardy at the break and forced to lose ground at the first turn, raced to the outside to better her position on the back stretch, overhauled the leaders at the stretch turn and came out swiltly in the stretch run. FLAG ETTA was hurried into a short lead, was unable to get clear and could not stay with the winner when caught. LA CANTER was used up forcing the pace and tired. WINNING STREAK began rapidly and fell back going to the first turn. She was rushed up to the leaders, but could not stay. ASTERISK raced well and her rider could not do her justice when the stirrup iron broke. The others had no excuses. Scratched— 74144 Killy, 109; 74144 5Fernbrake, 112; 74083 Gesture, 111. SHANTEB, handled strongly and in the thick of contention early while racing on the inside, overhauled the leaders at the stretch turn and drew out at the end. BORO POKER, ridden hard, was unable to stay after disposing of SPRINGS HERE. CHESSIE broke from outside the stalls after acting unruly, raced prominently while losing ground and held on gamely. SPRINGS HERE tired in the last half mile. WELSH LAD could not gain in the late stages. LILTEEN was outrun. BABY WITT was held safe. NATHAN HALE appears to have staled off. The latter, permitted to go wide at the turn out of the back stretch, came between horses in the final drive and was wearing the winner down rapidly. MADFOOT was close up from the start and was the best of the others. ASTER" PRINCESS came gamely in the final drive. BARRACA could not engage the leaders. ISLE O JOY raced evenly. ROMNEY ROYAL, A-ery fractious, broke from outside the stalls and raced into a short lead early. He met strong opposition and outstayed FAIR DEAL under severe pressure. The latter raced on the inside from the start, made strong bids and fought it out stoutly. NIGHT WATCH raced in his best form and held on stubbornly after making repeated challenges. LULA KHAYYAM was eased back in the first eighth, then failed to gain when place to a drive. PROTEUS could not enter contention. ADRIATIC broke slower than usual and failed to got to the leaders. GREEN WATER engaged the pacemaker on the back stretch, but tired in the final test. HUPPY raced evenly. DUNRITA could not stay. HIS NIBS was taken very wide and raced on his own courage. Start good and slow. Won easily; second and third driving. BRAINCHILD raced into an easy lead, was steadied nicely and held RAZZLE DAZZLE safe .while under lieht urging. The latter gained steadily when placed to a drive, secured racing room on the inside of TIMETTA on the final turn and came gamely in the final issue. TIMETTA, well placed early, failed to reach the winner when shaken up and tired steadily. JABBERIE crossed over sahrply going to the first turn, raced forwardly, but was not qnod enough. LAST SCAMP was rated while setting the pace, but flattened out badly when placed to punishment. BOSOPI did not favor the footing. ITSAMAID could not menace. GUATEMALA was badly outrun.
