SMALL CHANGE, away well, had good .speed to get to the front early, set a fast pace and held on strongly when challenged in the late stages. ROYAL VEIL followed close up in the early running and came determinedly under punishment in the final drive. HIBLAZE was a keen contender all the way. KITTYS RIVAL was weakly ridden after breaking fast and lost ground for the entire journey. SCHLEY GOREE was forced wide in the back stretch. CAIDON had a rough trip early. JAY D. was crowded by HIBLAZE in the first eighth and fell back. BEST POLICY gained command at the -start, was steadied nicely while saving ground, met strong opposition from PROPRIETARY, was placed to punishment in the last half mile and outstayed JUSTA PILGRIM. The latter made early efforts, then rallied in the late stages to finish stoutly on the inside. JINNEAL worked her way upon the outside and finished with good courage. PROPRIETARY made a strong challenge while racing with the winner for the first seven-eighths, then tired in the final drive. CHILLY EBBIE could not keep up. KESWICK HILL was outrun.
